9/11 No Planes FBI John O’Neill
John O’Neill, a national counter-terrorism expert who’d risen to become head of national security at the New York FBI office. On the Thursday before 9/11, Tabeek says, O’Neill called him into a south tower conference room at 8 in the evening to go over security and "threat assessment."
"I said to him, ‘We’re 99 percent locked down,’ I said, ‘You’re not going to get in here with a bomb that’s going to do substantial damage within the building, because we minimized that.'
"John said to me, ‘Okay, you say to me we’re 99 percent locked down.’ He says, ‘What’s the other 1 percent?’ I says, ‘A plane.’ He says, ‘Come on, you’re grabbing at straws.’
