The definition of a sobriquet is an affectionate nickname. An example of a sobriquet is a grandfather calling his grandson "pumpkin."

"al Qaeda" was not known to Robert Fisk while he interviewed Bin Laden.
Robert Fisk named the terror network as "World Terror Inc." was the first fake terror group responsible for future terror attacks i.e 9/11..
