"“The ultimate message in a bottle,” the mortician said. “And it really happened.” “What’re you talking about?” I asked. “When?” “9/11.” Right there, the story came out. On 9/11, the victims of the Pentagon attack were brought to Dover. When the morticians worked on one of the bodies, they found a note inside. Apparently, as the plane was going down, one of the victims on Flight 77 actually ate a note, which was found by a Dover mortician. (Grand Central) To this day, the mortician won’t tell me what the note said, and I appreciate the need to respect that privacy. Since the morticians successfully recovered the note, I like to believe it (or at least its message) was delivered to its intended recipient."
Dothan (WTVY)-- An expert known for his forensic analysis in the 9-11 attack and Boston Marathon explosion investigations is among witnesses who testified this week in a Dothan murder trial.
FBI investigator Alan Guisti, a biologist, provided expert testimony Wednesday in the case against Va’Kevis Collins, one of five teens accused in the 2016 murder of William Craig “Phatso” Hawkins.
Houston County District Attorney Pat Jones put Guisti on the stand in his attempt to link Collins to the deadly shooting.
In addition to his investigation of the Twin Towers attack and the Boston ordeal, Guisti has been an expert witness in several other high-profile cases. Among them, the death of U.S. legislative intern Chandra Levy in 2010.
A GPS tracking expert also testified Wednesday in the third day of Collins’ trial. Some of those arrested for Hawkins murder were wearing devices that tracked their location as part of juvenile probation for prior crimes, police said.
Hawkins was shot in the front part of his Collier Street home in what investigators call a dispute over drugs and money.
It may be Friday before jurors begin deliberations.
