WORLD TRADE CENTER TASK FORCE INTERVIEW LIEUTENANT RENE DAVILA Interview Date: October 12, 2001 The "plane #2" is subtracted and replace with "he", "it" etc. "Then as I'm communicating I catch from my peripheral vision on the right -- I didn't even think about it hitting the building. I'm just basically like what the hell is he doing there. Before I knew it, he disappeared behind the building, and bingo, there was an explosion. I remember yelling over the frequency, however I communicated, a secondary explosion in the second building. At that time I remember I repeated over and over, because I had debris hit my helmet, "This is a hard hat situation, a hard hat operation, a hard hat operation."

A. Heading into the office that morning,
when on the air, I heard conditions 04,

volume and then heard him indicate that there was
a plane that ran into the side of the World Trade
Center. Initially I thought it was just one
of the commuter planes, or one of the
sight-seeing planes along the water there, but
then when I heard the second plane, then right
away I thought it must have been terrorist
