More parts found April 28, 2013 and still no serials or any traceable information
However back in December 7, 1987 Serial Numbers were found for Flight 1771
"Thomson's own seat was never recovered. Part of a seat that was identified from its serial number as being directly behind Thomson's was found to have two bullet holes in it."
‘Serial #’ is no tell-tale evidence April 28, 2013
Aircraft-parts experts say that while the number may not be unique to either of the Boeing 767s, investigators may yet find a serial number or other traceable information on the mechanism. Well Did they? That number — BOEING CSTG 65B84045 — is a “casting number” not unique to the part or to the plane, said Alan Lery of Turbo Resources International, an Arizona aircraft-parts seller.
It’s possible a number of parts on the mechanism have the same designation, he explained.
“Sometimes, the airlines track every single part number that comes with the plane,” he said. “But not likely this.” casting number?
Good morning, Mr. Plesse.
I recommend investigating the various agency e-FOIA reading rooms for data already released concerning the aircraft debris. The FBI has a September 11 section on their FOIA reading room webpage. The NIST studies may have used airplane debris as part of the analysis. The NTSB's e-FOIA page has information on the flight data recorders from flights 77 and 93 (http://www.ntsb.gov/about/ foia/Pages/foia_err.aspx).
National Archives staff cannot conduct research for requesters, but you are most welcome to visit the National Archives's Main Building in Washington, DC, to review the available 9/11 Commission records. Our website includes a list of researchers for hire, if that is a more convenient option (http://www.archives.gov/ research/hire-help/).
Sincerely,
Kris Wilhelm
